Shipping Policy |
Rex Marine ships
primarily through UPS. UPS has the best tracking and delivery service in the
industry. Actual freight charges will be added to orders when
final invoicing and processing occur (when the order is shipped). Shipping charges
are not added on the web site.
Insurance for your
shipment: We will not ship product without insurance covering the shipment.
These insurance charges are paid by the customer as part of the shipping. UPS
shipments are automatically covered up to $100 value at no extra charge. All damage and loss claims must be filed directly with the freight carrier by the buyer.
We offer USPS service
as well primarily on small items of little value. USPS has poor package tracking
at this time. We don't recommend it for valuable orders. We do ship a lot of
Canadian customers orders by USPS Airmail. It is much cheaper when you figure
in the customs brokerage fees that UPS charges for the same order. We can ship
USPS anywhere but don't recommend it. As with UPS we will not ship USPS without
insurance covering the shipment. These insurance charges are paid by the customer
as part of the shipping. USPS is much more difficult however to deal with on
an insurance claim.
Many web sites
add shipping based on a "so much per part" basis. This method is great
for the shipper but usually not for the customer. The customer normally ends
up paying much more than "actual freight charges".
Vendors that advertise
"free freight" like some of the large automotive mail order companies
normally add a pretty substantial handling charge that they don't advertise.
$10 to $12 is common. Rex Marine doesn't add handling charges except
for small orders. Freight is usually not free. They get you one way
or another. Be wary of free freight offers. Many times they are just a hook
with no real value.
Certain products
may have a free freight promotion from time to time. These will be plainly marked
on the web site. Additional handling charges will not be added
in these cases to make up for the free freight.
